Spotlight Theater Players present Robert Harling's "Steel Magnolias," a play about the friendship and love of a group of southern women in a small town in Louisiana. Directed by Melani Glascock, the play follows six women through the joys and heartbreak of life and death. The story is based on the real life of Robert Harling's sister and mother in Natchitoches, LA.
The cast includes Susan Burdette as "Truvy", Ellen Heiman as "Annelle", Helene Wall as "Clairee", Miranda Powell as "Shelby", Casie McMurray as "M'Lynn" and Marie Frederic as "Ouiser".
Spotlight Theater Players founder, Robert Reynolds, says this play is the first stage production for the group since receiving its' non-profit designation as a 501(C)3 corporation.
"We are thrilled with the cast and we are happy to reintroduce community theater to Livingston Parish," says Reynolds.
There will be four performances with 7 pm shows March 28-30 and a 2 pm matinee on Saturday, March 30. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased on www.stpds.com . Fundraising efforts are ongoing.
